Materica Lab offers services on diagnostic and characterization of materials, both existing and new products and formulations, which are focused on verifying their effectiveness and performances over time. The main objective is the increasing of the life cycle and durability of materials themselves, by researching the highest quality and durable life cycle of products and materials. Materica Lab is a Laboratory that operates in an innovative way, and our purposes are constantly carried out focusing attention on suitable plans of maintenance and restoring interventions on the built environment and the cultural property. Our audience target extends to both industrial markets, as both multinationals and micro-enterprises (in addition to institutions), which focus their interest on constructions, environment and Cultural Heritage. Morover, little and big companies which develop solutions, materials and technologies, offering the possibility to test and compare the effectiveness and performance of innovative products. Diagnostics and characterization services, as well as research on the quality and life cycle of a product or material is of great interest for the planning of interventions on buildings. These are placed in the foreground for companies which, for example, are owners or managers of items interested in restoration activities of public infrastructures and Patrimony, since they have legal obligations aimed at public use and fruition. It is worth noting that Materica Lab has interests to develop and improve business relations with companies of materials production, in order to constitute a solid operational base which, validating by the use of advanced instrumental technologies, could allow a significantly expanded on a large scale and at international level.

The diagnostics service performed within the laboratories and through highly specialised mobile laboratories is aimed at understanding the materials and the artefact in its past history and present state. The study of the material degradation of the artefact of historical-artistic interest in its present state involves the recognition of the phenomena of degradation and alteration and all the boundary conditions, in order to trace the causes triggering the degradation and plan suitable recovery and maintenance projects for artefacts belonging to the cultural heritage.
