U-SENSE.IT is  an innovative start-up aimed at the specific market of optical sensors for in-line quality control. U-SENSE.IT is a spin-off of the Polytechnic University of Marche, Italy founded on 2020.



Its mission: develop smart, portable and wireless measurements devices for operators performing in-line quality control in manufacturing production lines. A Human-Centric approach to digital factories, i.e. smart instruments for empowered workers, increasing their productivity, quality, performance, satisfaction and safety.



The start up relies on a highly transversal skilled team with multi annual expertise in the optical and non-contact measurement field. Two products have been already developed and they are in the industrialization phase after they have been validated by big international OEMs.

Gap & Flush is a key factor of the assembly process in many industrial sectors both for aesthetic and functional purposes. G3F comes as an ergonomic, smart and non-contact wireless laser line triangulation sensor for the operator performing assembly and quality control operations. The unrivalled ergonomics and the smart features of G3F allow operators to reliably perform in-line Gap & Flush quality control while being fully integrated with the digital factory. Application sectors are: Automotive, Household appliances, Aeronautics and Wood Furniture The main features of the G3F are: portable and ultra-ergonomic design, less than 1 s for a single measurement, the use of a specific laser source to efficiently measure on different surfaces, ensures operator safety, runs patented AI algorithms for manual measurement uncertainty management

VISIR: the quality beyond the visible spectrum of induction cooktops!

Inspecting the internal components of an induction cooktop is still a time-consuming and complex task. In fact, if problems occur at the end of the hob assembly process and there is a need to inspect its internal components, the only solution is to remove the ceramic glass with the possibility to damage it. VISIR allows the operator to inspect the components of the assembled cooktop without removing the ceramic glass, detecting the correct assembly of the electronic board components, the integrity of the inductors and related wiring, and the correct placement of silicone, to give a few examples. VISIR consists of a camera and illuminator connected to a SmartPhone to enable real-time viewing of the inspected parts. It is easily used by the operator on the production line but also by the customer service operator, providing the freedom of non-contact inspection, portability and the ability to store images and make videos.
