Description

Finapp is the innovative startup that developed and industrialized CRNS (cosmic ray neutrons sensing) probes. The method uses cosmic rays that continuously reach the Earth's surface: from their interaction with water molecules in soil, plants, and snow, a "fog" of suspended neutrons is formed that when measured allows us to determine: The Soil Moisture, The Water Resource (Water content in the Snow), The pre-localization of Water Losses, The Hydrogeological and Climatic Risk (Landslides, Drought)

TARGET: Hydroelectric Production and Basin Consortia, in the assessment of the available Water Resource through the measurement of SWE; In Precision Agriculture by providing key informations for the development of Irrigation strategies; Entities and Institutions using Early Warning information for avalanches, mudslides and landslides mitigation; Municipalities, Utilities that will be able to have monitoring and qualification of the water network through very fast pre-location of leaks;

Measuring Water Content in Soil with Cosmic Rays_Finapp

Measuring Water Content in Soil with Cosmic Rays_Finapp

The Finapp method uses Cosmic Rays that continuously reach the Earth's surface: from their interaction with Water molecules in soil, plants, and snow, a "fog" of suspended neutrons is formed. Finapp probes make it possible to count these neutrons with innovative disruptive technology and provide information about the water content in soil and snow. - The presence of water in the soil is one of the main indicators of the health of agroecosystems enabling proper irrigation management; - Water saturation in mountain slopes is a key part of the pre-warning index for hydro-geological hazards such as run-off landslides; - Climate risk from wildfires is developed from the soil moisture assessment of forest systems and from environmental conditions; - The amount of water contained in snow is indicative of the water resource available for hydropower production and its civil or industrial use.
Pre-localization of Water Losses in Aqueducts with Innovative Finapp Cosmic Neutron Technique

Pre-localization of Water Losses in Aqueducts with Innovative Finapp Cosmic Neutron Technique

Finapp innovates the public water distribution sector with CRNS Neutron Probes, which can be set in motion in order to obtain georeferenced soil moisture maps, without ground contact, simply by walking the streets above the network to be monitored. The range of the probe is about 10m, offering timely and detailed information, providing very high efficiency (over 68% match). The system consists of several Finapp5 probes, installed on equipped vehicle or public vehicle. The speed at which the vehicle travels offers the possibility of monitoring and mapping network leaks with times as much as 10 to 15 times less than traditional techniques, with longer travel distances (as much as 120 km/day), with costs as much as 3 to 5 times lower, allowing continuous periodic monitoring. The result of the pre-location process is made available through instantly readable maps that enable the operator to develop the best management strategies.
