Description
The problem of electronic waste is a global challenge that affects us all, but with the help of new technologies, we have the power to transform e-waste from a burden on our environment into a valuable resource for a sustainable future. By harnessing the power of industrial robots and computer vision, Hiro Robotics drives innovation in e-waste recycling, empowering recycling plants and maximizing the amount of valuable critical raw materials and conflict minerals recovered from our discarded electronics. Hiro's flagship product is a modular and scalable robotic system for the automated disassembly of flat panel televisions and monitors, enabling the recovery of high-quality materials such as metals, plastics, and rare-earth elements. Hiro has also developed a robotic system for the analysis, economic evaluation, and selection of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) waste, with the aim of maximizing the percentage of rare-earth elements recovered from this highly valuable waste stream. Hiro's research and development team is already working on new solutions for other classes of e-waste, such as batteries or solar panels, which are equally hazardous to the environment but also rich in reusable materials.
