The ontology enables fundamental functionalities such as data lineage, semantic versioning, saving of artifacts, and orchestration of complex pipelines. Mosaico handles the traceability of data and events throughout the entire processing chain. It allows reconstructing the data path from source to target, including all intermediate transformations. Data linage also integrates an advanced logging functionality for recording system events, error messages, and operator triggers. Designed to manage large volumes of heterogeneous data, Mosaico integrates a multi-modal search system based on AI agents, which allows complex queries through natural language, images, video segments, GPS tracks or structured criteria.

Mosaico uses containers to manage and coordinate software. By adopting containers, Mosaico simplifies testing and development, guarantees pipeline reproducibility even in high-performance computing (HPC) environments, and tracks container versions.
