The Houses of Emerging Technologies are research, experimentation, and technology transfer hubs focusing on projects aimed at leveraging emerging technologies to support next-generation networks funded by the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy.

13 hubs across Italy specialize in technologies including Blockchain, IoT, AI, Augmented and Virtual Reality, and Quantum Technology.

Each House comprises a multistakeholder partnership involving the lead municipality, public and private research institution and industrial partners, a real ecosystem oriented towards territorial development.

A widespread tech transfer centre developed on emerging technologies in strategic sectors for Turin

CTE NEXT is a project financed by the Ministry of Enterprises and made in Italy. Created as an “ecosystem” initiative co-funded with an additional budget by the 13 partners and accompanied by a network of public and private stakeholders. The municipality of Turin pinpointed 4 vertical and strategic areas for development and innovation which will be the foundation of CTE Next's goals and of its services in support of businesses:
1. Smart road
2. Urban air mobility
3. Industry 4.0
4. Smart city services.
The CTE NEXT project employs a wide partner network capable of support SMEs and Startups in all stages of innovative solutions development, from the idea to the display in a real context. So, any Italian and foreign start-up and SME with at least one operational headquarters in Italy can benefit from the House’s services, as well as informal groups not yet set up as businesses, but willing to start a business project, that meet the several criteria.

Innovation Made in Sardinia: growing as an ecosystem with Cagliari Digital Lab

The Municipality of Cagliari has been engaged for several years in implementing a new model of urban governance, which pivots on the most advanced information and communication technologies, to renew and develop the relationship between public administration, citizens and businesses. The Cagliari Digital Lab - the house of emerging technology financed by the Italian Ministry of Enterprises - is a technology laboratory, a real innovation centre focusing on emerging technologies such as Quantum Computing, cloud platforms, AI and Deep Learning, with the aim of developing services and applications in the fields of logistics, tourism, industrial automation and Smart Energy. 
Together with the project partners, various tech transfer actions have already been carried out towards local companies and those engaged in the development of technologies in the sectors of interest: 2 startup acceleration courses, 4 contamination bootcamps and 4 hackathons have been held since 2022.
