The Lactalis Group in Italy is part of the French Lactalis Group, the global leader in dairy products, with over €28.3 billion in revenue, 86,000 employees, and 270 production sites in 51 countries.
Lactalis has been present in Italy for 35 years, building on the most prestigious brands of Italian dairy tradition: Invernizzi, Cademartori, Locatelli, and Galbani, which is a market leader and a global symbol of Italian cheeses. In 2011, Parmalat, the Italian leader in the milk market, was acquired. In 2020, the acquisition of the Castelli Group, a leader in the production and distribution of Italian PDO cheeses, was finalized, followed by the addition of Leerdammer in 2021 and Ambrosi in 2023.

With a turnover exceeding €2.9 billion, Lactalis in Italy employs 5,300 people and operates 31 production facilities nationwide. It is the largest purchaser of domestic milk, collecting 1.5 billion liters of milk annually from around 1,100 suppliers across 16 Italian regions. The company processes the milk with respect for tradition, ensuring more than 8 million detailed quality checks per year, using cutting-edge technologies throughout the supply, production, and distribution chain.
