Biografia
Jonathan Speed is a Venture Partner at Waterman Ventures and a Coach and Mentor at Alchemist Accelerator, where he also serves as the Advisory Board Chair of the Alchemist-Memphis Hub program. In 2013, he founded 1790 Media, which develops and runs online summits with global innovators for the next generation of entrepreneurial “doers, makers, and thinkers.”
Before joining the Alchemist team, Jonathan was a senior finance and business development executive for Fortune 1000 financial institutions and early-stage technology companies. He completed complex equity and debt financings totaling $15B at firms such as Manufacturers Hanover Trust, Kidder Peabody, Citibank, and EY. As a startup executive, he led business development, finance, operations, and sales teams at myCFO, STEMCompass, and Versal Group.
Jonathan actively contributes to the growth of the startup ecosystem by serving on the advisory board of six startups. He is a member of the marketing and membership committee of the Angel Capital Association and the steering committee of the San Francisco chapter of the CFO Leadership Council. Furthermore, he sits on several non-profit boards, including the Episcopal Impact Fund, the Inman Page Council Board of Governors (Brown University’s Black Alumni Association), and the Anne S. K. Brown Military Collection at Brown University. He is an emeritus trustee of the Corporation of Brown University. Jonathan earned a BA from Brown University and an MA from Norwich University.
