Citizens are taking on an increasingly important role in driving the energy transition, and smart communities represent a major opportunity to reduce energy consumption and improve quality of life. Next-generation energy systems use new digital technologies to collect and analyze real-time data and manage city services more efficiently. These solutions are transforming the energy landscape by creating new synergies to reduce emissions and improve energy efficiency. Smart cities therefore hold great promise for the future if they can meet the constant demand for energy.
