HySAFE S.r.l.
Innovative Startup of Sapienza University of Rome
Description
HySAFE is a startup from Sapienza University of Rome, built on over twenty years of research in vibration control and innovative structural systems. Founded in Italy, one of the countries most exposed to seismic risk, it addresses the global challenge of resilience by developing reliable, efficient, and affordable solutions to protect buildings and infrastructure from earthquakes, wind, and other dynamic loads. Its portfolio includes four patented technologies: HTMD, a compact, zero-energy device that drastically reduces vibrations; NSISO, a multidirectional isolator capable of attenuating up to 80% of accelerations; IsoPad, a scalable and cost-effective system for vibration isolation and dissipation; and WRISO, which extends the principles of the other devices, further enhancing efficiency and performance. HySAFE technologies stand out for ease of installation, robustness, cost-effectiveness, and minimal maintenance, offering a clear competitive advantage over traditional systems. All devices are protected by international patents in major global markets. HySAFE recently secured funding from the RoboIT Technology Transfer Hub of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, with the support of Pariter Partners, launching an industrialization pathway with companies in the manufacturing, infrastructure, and civil sectors, supported by a growing multidisciplinary team. Its mission is to enhance global safety by reducing seismic risk and increasing the resilience of vulnerable structures, transferring innovation from academia to the market and generating tangible impact on society, the economy, and cultural heritage.
