Biomimesi is an Italian start-up founded in 2019. We operate in the research and development of innovative biotechnologies with high technological value and social impact, with particular attention to the energy harvesting sector from unconventional renewable sources. The "ELETTRO500M" technology patented and created in the Biomimesi laboratories opens the door to a series of new applications starting from renewable energies with the production and accumulation of energy. The membranes made by Biomimesi can also find applications in the biomedical, pharmaceutical and biosensor sectors.

ELETTRO500M

ELETTRO500M produces clean energy using ATP. This technological solution generates and stores energy without environmental risks or the need for an expensive distribution network. Starting from the idea of using potential electrochemical differences deriving from biological processes for the production of electricity, we have developed the “ELETTRO500M” technology. The biomimetic membrane made by Biomimesi behaves like a capacitor, generating an electrochemical potential difference through the binding of the ATP molecule which moves the charges in the form of ions from one half-cell to another. The technology developed is biodegradable and does not involve physical or ecological risks in its production, use and disposal phase. The ATP used in the ELETTRO500M system can be obtained from glucose or extracted from biomass. The ELETTRO500M system will be of great interest to stakeholders in the energy, automotive, biomedical and pharmaceutical sectors.
