Within the regional aims based on “Action 3.4.2.” of the Calabria Region’s Cohesion Action Plan 2014-2020, in particular regarding actions that support processes of internationalisation of Calabrian products, the Region participation at Milan’s SMAU 2023 edition, is an initiative to support innovative start-ups, spin-offs and /or innovative Calabrian SMEs to strengthen their international attractiveness, and encourage projection towards extra-regional markets.

Likewise, in the context of the regional Smart Specialization Strategy (S3 Calabria-Smart Specialization Strategy), the Region’s Department of Economic Development and Cultural Attractors, through Fincalabra Spa - Special Projects Asset, supports the development and innovation of this sector by promoting actions aimed at company growth.

An integrated system, therefore, adjusted towards innovation, internationalisation, development, and growth of the regional productive system.

In this regard, the Calabria Region will attend SMAU MILANO, the international event taking place on 18th and 19th October at FieraMilanoCity, with 10 innovative Calabrian startups/spin offs that have been selected by the SMAU team from within the expression of interests received, as per the following link: www.smau.it/articoli/sei-una-startup-pmi-innovativa-calabrese-partecipa-da-protagonista-a-smau-milano-2023.

Participating in this event has the objective of developing international trade relations, industrial and financial partnerships, open innovation projects and co-innovation activities, and promoting interregional and international cross-fertilisation processes.
