More specifically, we specialized in the production of two patented solutions: the WSM-170 (water-soluble expanding mandrel) and the Carbon Exoskeleton. These mandrels are rigid at room temperature, allowing for male lamination, and can expand with pressure in autoclave or OoA processes. They dissolve easily in water with no solvents, making them ideal for high-performance sectors like aerospace, automotive, and motorsport, where precision, durability, and efficiency are paramount. The WSM-170 is an innovative mandrel designed to optimize the production of hollow carbon fiber components. Made from a low environmental impact polymer and produced through various technologies such as additive manufacturing or rotomoulding, the WSM-170 is both expandable and water-soluble. At room temperature, the WSM-170 is rigid, allowing for male lamination. It then expands under pressure during autoclave or OoA cure cycles. After the curing process, the mandrel can be easily dissolved in water without the use of chemical solvents. This patented and recently introduced solution reduces production times, improves the quality of the final product, and optimizes costs, opening new possibilities in the composites industry.
