The bridge between Italian and New York Innovation Ecosystem
SMAU | Italy RestartsUp in New York is the event dedicated to innovation between Italy and the US ecosystem, organized in collaboration with ITA–Italian Trade Agency for the internationalization and promotion of Italian companies abroad, the event will take place on the 11th June.
A selection of Italian startups will showcase their products and services to corporates, investors, and innovation enablers. The event will bring together leading voices from the Italian and American innovation ecosystems for dynamic pitching sessions and engaging panel discussions. Participants will explore the latest trends in innovation and sustainability; uncover new opportunities in business growth and corporate innovation; dive into AI, digitalisation and emerging technologies; envision cities of the future and smart communities through open innovation and examine the role of corporate venture capital and venture building in shaping tomorrow’s markets.
As stated by Pierantonio Macola, President of SMAU, the purpose of the event is: “To introduce the innovative excellence of Made in Italy to American entrepreneurs, investors, and managers attending the exhibition. Italy is globally recognized for its excellence in food, fashion, and design, and SMAU | Italy RestartsUp in New York will be an opportunity to activate business relationships, partnerships, and investments among international ecosystem players visiting the event and the Italian companies participating in the initiative.”
Programme
Wednesday, June 10th from 06.30 pm (by invitation only)
An opening networking cocktail event will take place at the Italian Consulate. The event is dedicated to investors, corporates and relevant players belonging to the New York ecosystems, interested in the delegation selected by SMAU.
Thursday, June 11th from 09.30 am to 08.00 pm
At Sixth Floor Loft, Startup companies will show their own products and services to corporates, investors, enablers and startups.
There will be numerous panels with representatives from the innovation ecosystem focused on: innovation and sustainability; uncover new opportunities in business growth and corporate innovation; digitalization and emerging technologies; envision cities of the future and smart communities.

Friday, June 12th from 9:00 am
Tour of some of the places where innovation happens, with visits to incubators and accelerators in the city in order to stimulate the creation of partnerships with representatives from the Italian ecosystem participating in the initiative.
