Founded in 2011 by FNM and Trenitalia, Trenord is among the most important local public railway transport companies at the European level.

Trenord manages the entire suburban and regional railway service in Lombardy, the Malpensa Express airport connection, the cross-border link with Canton Ticino through the Swiss company TILO, in which it holds a 50% stake, and long-distance services to Bavaria.

Every day, Trenord transports over 790.000 passengers on 2.400 trips connecting 460 stations in Lombardy and the seven neighboring provinces.
