Description

Edison is one of Italy’s leading companies in the Energy & Utilities sector, and the oldest in Europe with 140 years of history on its side.

Born in December 1883, the company started the process of electrification of the country, introducing it into a new era of industrial and economic developments and tangibly contributing to its social and cultural progress.

Today Edison employs more than 5500 people throughout Italy and Europe in generating renewable and low carbon energy, as well as in natural gas distribution and sale, e-mobility solutions, environmental and value-added services for private customers, enterprises, and public administrations via branches Edison Energia and Edison Next.

The Group is at the forefront in energy transition in line with UN Sustainable Development Goals and European strategies for decarbonisation, with highly efficient and flexible generation system with more than 200 plants including hydroelectric, wind and solar and combined cycle gas turbine plants reaching an overall capacity of about 7 GW.

The Group contributes in satisfying the country’s LNG and natural gas supply needs thanks to an extended and highly diversified portfolio of 12.6 billion standard cubic meters per year.
