At its core lies the Emilia-Romagna High Technology Network, generously supported by both regional and European funds. This network comprises over 100 laboratories, 14 innovation centers involving 1600 researchers, 10 Technopoles spanning 20 locations, along with the Tecnopolo Manifattura Data Valley Hub in Bologna. Additionally, it encompasses 100 incubators, accelerators, and innovation centers, over 500 innovative startups, 14 Fab Labs, 10 Open Labs for digital innovation, and 11 Clust-ERs, specialized sector-focused associations - including Muner Motorvehicle University and Big Data Association - made up of more than 800 public and private entities operating in the most important regional supply chains.
At the centre of the innovation ecosystem, ART-ER - Attractiveness Research Territory has holds a central role as the gateway for organizations driving innovation in the region . With over 400.000 companies and exports totaling Euro 84,1 Billion (2022).
