Biography
Andrea Vaccaro is a highly skilled and experienced engineer who is passionate about using technology to improve people's lives. As the leader of the Field Safety team at Waymo, Andrea is responsible for ensuring the safe operation of fully-autonomous vehicles currently operating in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Phoenix. He brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as the Director of Safety Engineering at Virgin Hyperloop One and led engineering teams for Ansaldo STS / Hitachi Rail in automated metro projects in Milan and Honolulu. Andrea holds a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Genova. With his expertise and leadership, Andrea has made significant contributions to the development and deployment of safe autonomous transportation technology.
