Giancarlo Savini

Biography

Giancarlo is an Investments Principal at Future Energy Ventures, a €250 million fund focused on climate tech software. He holds degrees in engineering and business administration from the University of Oxford (UK), Università di Bologna (Italy), and IMD Business School (Switzerland). After his studies, he joined GE and later Shell New Energies & Shell Ventures, and pioneered the first Sustainability Investment Practice at Honeywell Ventures. Over the past 18 years, Giancarlo has covered the complete innovation value chain, including R&D, commercialization, licensing, partnerships, venture capital investment, corporate development, and M&A. Currently, he serves on the boards of five companies in the US, EU, and Asia. Shell Ventures, Honeywell Ventures, and Future Energy Ventures have collectively invested in more than 227 climate tech companies, with Giancarlo personally involved in over 37 deals.
