Vilma Sofia Rissanen

Biography

Vilma is a Senior Advisor, Commercial and Economic Affairs, at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, based at the Embassy of Finland in Stockholm. In her role, she works to accelerate the growth of Finnish companies, strengthen trade with Sweden, and actively drive collaboration that helps companies and ecosystems in both countries to grow. She is responsible for topics related to ICT, digitalisation and critical technologies.

Vilma has several years of experience in providing strategic advice for growth minded and innovative companies, from startups to large corporations, across a wide range of industries. Before joining the Foreign Service, she worked for Business Finland in both Sweden and the UK, supporting companies in their international expansion. Prior to that, she held roles in the FMCG sector and worked as a consultant in Sweden, Denmark and the UK.
