Description
Supporting research, innovation, and technology transfer in collaboration with local research centers and universities, as well as promoting access to higher education, are the key responsibilities of the General Directorate for Universities, Research, and Innovation. The actions and initiatives promoted contribute to creating an environment conducive to innovation, where all citizens and economic and social actors can find opportunities for growth and development: Facilitating the transfer of research results to the market and accelerating innovation processes by supporting collaboration between businesses, universities, and research organizations, developing research and innovation infrastructures, and attracting investments towards innovative startups and SMEs. Priority initiatives and actions are outlined in the Triennial Strategic Program for Research, Innovation, and Technology Transfer.
Strengthening tertiary education, with a particular focus on university access and entry into the research and job market, by promoting the university system and the right to education (DSU).
The chosen approach for designing and implementing all policies related to Universities, Research, and Innovation is Open Innovation. This involves citizen engagement and participation, transparency, information sharing, and the enhancement and networking of skills, also through the platform www.openinnovation.regione.lombardia.it.
