The University of Bologna, as partner of the Technopoles Network Project, founded 7 Interdepartmental Centers for Industrial Research (CIRI). Each Center, equipped with research labs, researchers and high-tech equipment, aims at developing research, creating innovation and transferring knowledge to the business sector
During 6 years of activity, CIRI have seen over 420 senior researchers (21 Departments) and 600 young researchers involved in projects, commissioned by industry or co-financed by public institutions, for an amount of over 60 M€. Over 300 cooperation agreements have been launched with National or European companies, 4 joint labs with industry, 3 spin-offs and tens of patents have been filed
