Description

FAST Computing, a SISSA startup, is focused on development of advanced mathematical modeling for real time simulations and data analysis in the industry sector. Our expertise allow customers to solve complex engineering problems related to product r&d and processes optimization. In 2026 we have won an EIC Transition grant to develop our own simulation software based on new advanced methodologies, able to speed-up innovation and competitiveness from small to big enterprises.

This use case illustrates the kind of solutions FAST Computing is capable of delivering. We have created a real-time model to simulate parametric variations within manufactured components that are subject to temperature control, which is necessary to ensure their operational efficiency. This project provides a concrete example of the technologies and methodologies we can deploy to accelerate research and development processes in areas of advanced engineering complexity.

DART

Detection and classification of structural defects in tunnels using artificial intelligence. This product, developed in partnership with Lombardi Ingegneria, is a tool for analysing images collected during inspections of the condition of civil infrastructure. DART, thanks to advanced developments and innovative methodologies based on the integration of emerging technologies, enables the acceleration of inspections of high-risk civil infrastructure, providing a risk ranking of the structural integrity of the infrastructure itself. This product was developed in partnership with Lombardi Ingegneria, a leading Italian firm specialising in the design and maintenance of civil infrastructure.
