Description
IamHero develops VR game-based therapeutic environments to improve the cognitive-behavioral skills of children with neurodevelopmental disorders. IamHero improves therapeutic efficacy and engagement in digital health and edu-tech fields thanks to a playful approach that combines fun with work and learning experiences focused on increasing child's flow (i.e. total mindfulness and immersion in an advanced therapeutic environment). The process of providing cognitive-behavioral experiences using advanced tools such as VR and motion detector devices within immersive scenarios is the key of IamHero's innovation. IamHero is designed for teens and youth with special needs and neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, autism, SLD) through serious games in virtual reality (VR). Kids diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders are increasing worldwide together with the demand for psycho-educational therapies provided by specialized centers. Teens and youths suffer from social isolation and bullying, depression and school drop out which may lead to lack of autonomy when adults. IamHero aims to help therapists to improve retention and engagement. IamHero has developed a VR-based system enabling therapies under the continuous supervision of a specialized therapist and collecting data for post-therapy analysis dedicated to B2B specialized professionals and clinics with a yearly subscription. From the experimentation of the IAmHero prototype it emerged that there are significant improvements regarding executive functions, which is why future implementations aim to expand the target to adults who show problems related to these cognitive functions.
