The Terna Innovation Zones

The Terna Innovation Zones

The Terna Innovation Zones act as catalysts for innovation in the energy sector, with their ability to accelerate the uptake of technologies by identifying, testing and validating innovative solutions which will make an impact on the future of the electricity system. Adopting an open innovation approach, these centres have been designed for co- innovation, which is to say facilitating active collaboration between our company and key partners in the global innovation ecosystem (startups, companies, and academic and research institutions belonging to both the energy field and other industrial sectors), while also enabling the exchange of ideas, skills and know-how (in operational activity formats, such as the TIZ Studies, Grid Talks & Forums and Bootcamps), so that we can tackle the challenges of a sustainable, digitised energy future together. There are two sides to our role in this scenario: on the one hand, we perform the role of industrial validator for innovative technological solutions; on the other, we provide direction for innovation in the international energy sector.
