Biography
Viola Jardon is a sustainability innovation leader, business mentor and advisor and ecosystem builder working at the intersection of academia, corporates, startups, and investment networks. She is Director of Innovation Programmes at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), where she leads global accelerator and partnership programmes designed to translate sustainability ambition into scalable commercial impact.
At CISL, Viola directs multiple corporate–startup collaboration programmes with organisations such as L’Oréal and BSI. Across these programmes, she has supported more than 400 startups. Her work focuses on enabling corporates to engage effectively with emerging technologies, while helping founders navigate complex institutional, regulatory, and market environments and market expansion.
Alongside her practitioner role, Viola is an active researcher and thought leader on gender, power, and networks in innovation and investment ecosystems. Her Cambridge Master’s dissertation examining structural barriers facing women in venture capital, with a particular focus on how information flow, access, trust, collaboration, and status are shaped by network dynamics such as homophily and structural holes. Viola frequently integrates her research into public-facing platforms. She is a TEDx speaker (TEDxWoodlaneWomen), where her talk “Who Gets to Shape Tomorrow?” explores how informal networks influence who gains access to capital and opportunity. She is also a winner of the SME News Award 2025 for Startup Acceleration and a finalist for the UK Asian Women of Achievement Awards 2023, reflecting her impact in both innovation leadership and inclusive ecosystem development.

With extensive experience working across the UK, Europe, Asia, and Latin America, she supports organisations and founders navigating overseas market entry, cross-border partnerships, and ecosystem integration.
